Science Team Meeting
May 4-6, 2004 – The NASA/USGS invasive species project will hold its fourth science team meeting in Fort Collins, Colorado in May. The meeting will take place at the USGS Fort Collins Science Center and Colorado State University's Natural Resources Ecology Laboratory. The meeting will be hosted by the USGS National Institute of Invasive Species Science.

Guests will include colleagues from the USGS Fort Collins Science Center, National Institute of Invasive Species Science, Colorado State University, the Natural Resources Ecology Lab, University of Alabama at Huntsville, Mississippi State University, USDA, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and NASA Headquarters.

Agenda
At this science team meeting, a prototype V1.0 of the Invasive Species Forecasting System, associated documentation, and initial data sets will be delivered to USGS. Team members will provide a comprehensive briefing on the current state of the project and map out next steps. In addition, partners will report on their progress on work relating to NASA's Invasive Species National Application. As shown in the draft agenda below, two days of formal meetings are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday, May 4th and 5th. The third day, May 6th, will be a hiking and horseback ecological field trip to observe cheatgrass stands in Rocky Mountain National Park. The field trips will be guided by Drs. Tom Stohlgren and Geneva Chong.
Travel Arrangements
Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. A block of rooms has been reserved at the government rate at the University Park Holiday Inn under the name “USGS-NASA”.
